Dr Cobus Coetzee – BChD, Dip Odont (Orth), MChD (Orth)

Dr Coetzee qualified as a dentist from the University of Pretoria in 1991. After completing one year of compulsory national service he worked at a government dental clinic in George before joining a private dental practice in Gauteng.

During his time in private practice he completed a post-graduate diploma in orthodontics (cum laude) at the University of Pretoria during 1994. In 1995 he got a part-time appointment in the Department of Orthodontics, University of Pretoria and was appointed as a full-time senior lecturer in the department later that same year. He started his 4 year full-time orthodontic specialist studies at the University of Pretoria in 1996 and received his MChD (Orthodontics) degree (cum laude) in 2000.

He opened his practices in George , Mossel Bay and Oudtshoorn in September 2000 and also worked as a part-time specialist orthodontist in London between 2000 and 2012. Dr Coetzee is a member of the South African Society of Orthodontists (SASO), the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) and is also registered as a specialist orthodontist with the General Dental Council (GDC) in the United Kingdom.

Dr Mark Wiseman – BChD, MChD (Orth)

Dr Mark Wiseman qualified as a dentist in 1992, passing his dental degree cum laude and being awarded academic honours colours by the University of Stellenbosch.

He practiced in private practice in South Africa and the U.K., before resuming his studies at the University of Stellenbosch and completing his MChD degree in orthodontics in 1999. He practiced in South Africa and overseas before settling in George with his family and wife, who is also a dentist.

From the beginning of March 2017, Mark has joined Dr. Cobus Coetzee at Outeniqua Orthodontics. Mark is a member of SADA and is awaiting membership of SASO. He is registered with the HPCSA as a specialist orthodontist.

Susan Coetzee (Oral Hygienist)

Susan obtained her Oral Hygienist diploma from the University of Pretoria in 1994. She started working in an orthodontic practice in Bloemfontein at the beginning of 1995, and then moved back to Pretoria where she worked at two different orthodontic practices between 1996 & 2007.Susan and her husband Marius moved to George at the beginning of 2008 and she’s been a part of our team since January 2008. Her duties are mainly clinical, but she also handles all our stock purchases. She likes gardening, walking & even goes fishing with her husband occasionally!

Adelynn Smith (Oral Hygienist)

Adelynn qualified as an Oral Hygienist at the University of Pretoria in 1994. She joined an orthodontic practice in Pretoria for two years before moving to Johannesburg where she worked in another orthodontic practice for seven years. After relocating to George she worked at an orthodontic practice for about a year before she took a five year break to raise her three children. Adelynn joined our team as an Oral Hygienist in 2011 and her duties are mainly clinical in nature.

Marlene van Staden (Oral Hygienist)

Marlene qualified as an Oral Hygienist at the University of Stellenbosch in 1991. She started working at an orthodontic practice in Bloemfontein at the beginning of 1992, where she worked until 1994. Between 1994 & 1995 she worked as an Au Pair in Bonn, Germany and also used this time to travel Europe. After returning to South Africa in 1996 Marlene joined an orthodontic practice in Pretoria and also worked at two other orthodontists in Pretoria, before relocating to George in July 2001. During her time in Pretoria she took a six month break to tour America and Canada. 

Marlene joined our team in July 2001 and her duties include both clinical and administrative tasks. She is married to Karel and they have three kids, two real ones and one Golden Retriever. In her free time Marlene likes jogging, hiking, swimming and travelling.


Linwill Kearns (Oral Hygienist)

Linwill obtained his Bachelor's degree in Oral Health at the University of the Western Cape in 2015. He has great enthusiasm towards the field of orthodontics and regards himself as a 'Professional Smile Maker'.




Ilse Botes (Receptionist)

Ilse is responsible for doing reception at our Oudtshoorn practice, but also has a variety of other administrative tasks within the practice. She has a son and a daughter, both married and in her free time she loves walking, camping and spending quality time with family and friends.



Amanda Marshall (Receptionist)
Amanda grew up in the beautiful Karoo town of Graaff-Reinet where she started a career in the banking business. After 24 years of working for different banks, Amanda joined our team in 2006 as Receptionist.She is the friendly face and voice that will meet you when you visit our practice. Apart from scheduling appointments, Amanda performs a wide variety of administrative tasks in the practice. Mother of two adult daughters and married to Charles, she also enjoys walking, people, nature, sun and sea!



Marié van Rooyen (Accounts)
Marié started her working career as a data-typist in Cape Town and later worked at Radiologists in Worcester and a Physician in Klerksdorp. Before moving to George in 2008 she did financial administration at a primary school in Gauteng.
In March 2013 Marié joined our team in the accounts department where she handles all account related queries as well as several other administrative tasks. In her free time she likes listening to music, completing crossword puzzles and spending time with her two children and good friends.
